Treat connectivity as a plan

Your first connection can fail because of airport Wi-Fi congestion, carrier roaming delays, eSIM activation timing, or payment verification. Prepare one primary connection and one offline fallback.

Pre-flight checklist

  • Confirm your phone is unlocked if you plan to use eSIM or a local SIM.
  • Save activation instructions and QR codes offline.
  • Download map, airline, hotel, payment, and translation apps before leaving home.
  • Save hotel address and emergency phrases for offline use.

If data fails after landing

  1. Try your prepared mobile data plan

Activate roaming, eSIM, or SIM using your saved instructions.

  2. Use airport or hotel Wi-Fi briefly

Use Wi-Fi only long enough to activate service or contact your hotel.

  3. Switch to offline cards

Show saved hotel, taxi, payment, and emergency phrases while you recover.
